Glee, House And Charlie Sheen

The last episode of House that we watched featured an annoyed Dr. House speaking at a grade school for career day. Trying to get out of the assignment, he decided to be his usual, shocking self. He described a vaginal exam for a woman who had overused her vibrator. The teacher was scandalized, but the real joke was on the one fat kid in the back of the room who didn't know what a vibrator was.

As I understand it, the last episode of Glee involved the kids all getting drunk and then performing.

Once we have properly "educated" our children and none of them are shocked any more by what they here or see - straight up pornography, drug abuse and drinking, then what?

In other news, Charlie Sheen, living the life endorsed and recommended by House, Glee, and his own show, Two and a Half Men, has completely self-destructed. No hint of irony was detected on anyone reporting the event.

Update: And, of course, a couple hundred young, fatherless men were arrested last night and sent to jail. But then again, that happens every night. What's the big deal?

My daughter, on the other hand, has found out:
people you think you know sometimes are nothing like you thought; this can be good or bad;
making big assumptions can get you in trouble;
wearing really skimpy clothing to get a boys attention will make you get embarrassed;
lying just makes things more complicated;
girls with guns are cool, and can make a tiny woman a fighter equal to a gigantic, mecha-enhanced or supernatural man if she knows what she's doing and has the right ammo.

Yay, anime.

Oh! And all this without a single attack on our religion, political views or subculture!

So why are you still watching TV? Just askin'.

To Foxfier: reason #83 why I wish I had a daughter - "girls with guns." Though helping my five year old son handle the .22 is pretty cool too.

A guy who knows how to use a gun properly is pretty dang impressive, IMOHO.
(In My Occasionally Humble Opinion.)

Beats the heck out of this hand-to-hand BS they like to have on TV! (I shudder for any child-- especially girls, but also boys-- that sees fighting on TV and thinks an untrained, unarmed or smaller person is going to win-- bad guys choose setups they think will let them win.)

"wearing really skimpy clothing to get a boys attention will make you get embarrassed"

I was at the mall the other day with my daughter and one of her friends. A young woman walked by us with her boyfriend. The shorts she was wearing were practically a thong with some cloth attached. Her cheeks were flappin' in the breeze.

Barf!

Jeff, my wife likes to watch House. Sometimes I watch with her.
